What a Fun Nightmare Before Christmas Recipe for your Halloween party!
The best thing about Halloween is that it gives everyone a chance to be a kid again – even if just for one night. You get to dress up however you want and give yourself permission to believe that ghosts and goblins and spooks roam the earth, just like a little kid.
Maybe you’ll even get have one wonderful moment where you feel that old familiar chill shivering deliciously right up your spine. You may even get that happy chill when you bite into these yummy quesadillas, especially if you love cheese as much as I do!
These snacks are perfect for busy parents – especially when you’re trying to get everyone ready for Trick or Treating. They whip up in about 5 to 10 minutes and are super easy to eat – even for young children on the go.
And if you host a kids’ Halloween party, you’ll have at least one snack available that isn’t full of sugar. On a sugar-drenched holiday like Halloween, that’s always a win! Yes, we love A Nightmare Before Christmas
Our recipe takes its inspiration from one of our favorite holiday movies, A Nightmare Before Christmas. Of course, with all of its spooky characters, it’s easy to think that the movie is just about Halloween, but many of us realize that it’s also a feel good Christmas movie.
There are so many charming characters in the movie, and of course, one immediately thinks of Sally, Jack Skellington, and the big bad Oogie Boogie. But one of my favorites has always been the Vampire Brothers. The four of them always bring a smile to my face with their different jobs according to their ranks.
When I make these quesadillas, I like to try to vary the shapes of the coffins to make some taller, some thinner, some wider, some shorter to mimic the shapes of the four Vampire Brothers themselves.
Ingredients you need to make the Vampire Brother’s Quesadillas
Serves 2
- 5 flour tortillas
- 1 cup cheese (cheese of choice)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Equipment you will need:
Coffin Cookie Cutter – different sizes are great to mimic the 4 Vampire Brothers various heights and widths.
How to make some Vampire Brother’s Quesadillas
- Using a bat cookie cutter and coffin cookie cutter cut out shapes from the tortillas.
- In a cast-iron skillet, brush olive oil. Add cut out flour tortillas to the pan then top with cheese. Set to low heat. Add the flour quesadillas tops.
- Cook for two to three minutes each side till it’s lightly browned and cheese is melted.
- Serve with salsa, guacamole, or sour cream.
