Social Media is Not One Size Fits All

There is a lot of social media advice out there.  Much of it is good, but a lot of it is out of date.  How do you know which advice to follow and which advice to stow-away in your mental circular file?

Social Media is not One Size Fits All.

Social Media is not One Size Fits All.

What you want to accomplish with social media may be different from that of your friends. For example, an article that tells you how to set up an account on twitter is truly a universal how-to article. However, determining how to use Twitter (or any other social platform) is largely based upon what it is that you wish to achieve from your social media efforts.

Learn Social Media from someone you trust

I recommend working with someone you trust to talk about your social media strengths and weaknesses.  Some people call this social media 101, others call it an audit. In either case, it’s an opportunity for you to sit down with a social media professional to evaluate what you do well, where you have room for improvement, to determine what skills you need to push your business to the next level and to set your goals.

There are so many tools out there today that with the right teacher, you can learn how to create engaging posts for Facebook, stunning photos for Instagram, intriguing tweets, blog posts, and even infographics.  It may sound daunting, but the tools are so user-friendly.  All you need is a bit of patience, and if you’re more comfortable with it, someone to walk you through the process.

And that’s where I come in.  I write a lot of posts about social media geared toward a wide audience.  However, you may find that you need customized advice and strategies that are specific to your business, your goals, and your personality and time commitment.

I offer social media consulting individually or in small group settings.  I am also available to teach workshops for your company or group and for speaking engagements.

If you are interested in meeting with me, I work locally in Santa Clarita, CA and am also available to consult via phone, skype or conference call. For local appointments, I see clients on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between the hours of 10:30 and 4:00 pm.  I am available from time to time outside of those hours with advance planning. I deliberately keep my consultancy small so that I can give you the attention you need.

When you work with me, we work together. I believe in the “teach someone to fish” concept.  You’ll gain the confidence and skills you need to succeed on social media. Whether you need to start with the basics of how to create a login or work with more advanced strategies and techniques that take your business to the next level, I can help.
