This fruity and fizzy Kir Royale with Chambord raspberry liqueur is a show stopper.

It is  a great addition to any celebration or special event.

The shot of Chambord provides a pretty pink hue with flavors of raspberries which I decided to accentuate with additional raspberries as a garnish.

And if you ask me, it’s always a good time to mix Chambord and champagne.

Celebrate with a Chambord Kir Royale champagne cocktail

We enjoy letting the raspberries float in the drink. They infuse nicely and make a delightful little bite while you sip your drink. If you prefer, you may also put the raspberries on a cocktail pick and rest it in or across the top of the glass.

If you aren’t familiar with this classy cocktail, it’s a delicious French aperitif made with berry flavored liquor.

While the classic recipe calls for crème de cassis (a black currant liqueur), this recipe uses Chambord, a raspberry-based liquor that provides richness and sophistication.

You can also make your own version of this cocktail by using whatever berry liqueur you prefer or have on hand.

With this tasty and classy cocktail on hand, you can guarantee that your next special event will be celebrated in style!

It’s perfect to serve year round, but it’s especially nice to add to your drinks menu for special occasions.

We like to serve a Kir Royal anytime you want to pop a bottle of bubbly.

Romantic holidays like Valentine’s Day and New Year’s Eve are a natural fit for this cocktail.

It’s ideal for celebrations too – weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, promotions, retirements, baby showers, you name it!

If it’s time to party, this drink has got you covered.

It’s also an excellent stand in for a mimosa!

Ingredients to make a Kir Royale:

Ingredients to make a Kir Royale cocktail: champagne, raspberries, and Chambord liqueur.
To make a Kir Royale, you’ll need champagne, raspberries, and Chambord liqueur. You may also use a black currant flavored liqueur if you’d like.

It’s so easy to make this drink.

You just need Chambord, champagne, and raspberries.

Here’s what we used specifically:

  • Champagne – we used Moet & Chandon’s Ice Imperial since that’s great for summertime champagne cocktails
  • Chambord – or your other favorite raspberry flavored liqueur
  • Raspberries – we used fresh, but you can use frozen raspberries if you wish

To make the drink, you will also need: a measuring cup or jigger and champagne glasses.

You may wish to put some raspberries on a cocktail pick too.

Serving a Kir Royale for a Champagne Toast

If you intend serving this Kir Royale to a crowd for a toast then make sure the champagne and liquor are well chilled in advance.

This helps to prevent the champagne from going flat too soon.

After all, you want the bubbly to be, well, bubbly.

It definitely helps to keep the bubbles last if all the ingredients are icy cold.

I’d even go so far as to say that you’d benefit from chilling the champagnes glasses too!

Can I make a Kir Royale with prosecco or cava?

Yes!

You may use any sparkling white wine, prosecco, or cava to make the drink.

And since this is a twist on the classic recipe, you can make it with either Chambord of creme de cassis or your other favorite berry flavored liqueur.

You’ve got options!

And you know what?

It will taste great.

Can I serve this champagne cocktail without the alcohol?

Yes, you can!

And you can still enjoy it like a glass of bubbly.

Replace the champagne with sparkling white grape juice.

Replace the Chambord with raspberry puree or syrup.

Otherwise follow the instructions as below.

Served chilled, the Kir Royale is perfect for any time you want to celebrate.

How to make a Kir Royale:

The great news is that this is one of the easiest cocktails you can make, and it’s always a crowd pleaser.

It’s perfect for parties because of its great taste, elegance, and sheer simplicity.

Begin by pouring champagne into a champagne flute.

You want to pour the champagne about three-quarters of the way full.

If you’re measuring, that’s about 4 ounces unless you’re using an extra large flute.

Pour a shot of Chambord into the champagne.

The Chambord will settle a bit and turn the drink a beautiful pink color.

Add a raspberry garnish and enjoy!

If you’re serving several glasses at a time, you can line up the the glasses in a row or on a serving tray.

Then pour the champagne in each glass as you go down the row.

Follow up with pouring the Chambord in each glass.

Garnish and serve!

How to serve Moet Champagne Ice Imperial

So if you’re a champagne aficionado, you know that serving champagne on the rocks has long been thought to be a big no no.

Well, that changes with Moet & Chandon’s Champagne Ice Imperial.

This particular champagne is especially designed to be served with ice.

In fact, some will say that it’s even better served on the rocks.

So no one will fault you at all if you make this drink with Ice Imperial and serve it on the rocks – it’s better that way!

But if you’re using a traditional champagne, prosecco, or cava, you’ll want to serve it chilled but without the ice.

What a refreshing cocktail that’s just perfect for summertime too! I’ve always had Kir Royales for special occasions, but I think it’s going to need to be in my drink recipe rotation for the summertime too!
